Info: Beat Machine partially grew out of research we did into how drum samples are used in modern pop music today: classic drum computer sources are constantly layered and interchanged with analog sources throughout a single song, creating a modern drum aesthetic rooted in classic tones.
Over a few months, and with help from Studio Sonar Traffic, we sampled a wide range of machines: from the Roland TR-808, Roland TR-909, and Oberheim DMX to the Yamaha RX5 and Casio RZ-1 then combined them with analog recordings and high-end processing.
We designed Beat Machine as a true drag-and-drop solution: something that gives you a more refined, mix-ready take on the familiar 808/909 palette.
