Info: For Kilohearts’ Phase Plant, we developed a haunting expansion designed for cinematic composers working in thriller and horror genres. We drew inspiration from the ‘folk horror’ aesthetic found in the films of Ari Aster, Robert Eggers, and Alex Garland. To capture this atmosphere, we recorded a range of unsettling vocals, evocative field recordings, and warped bow and flute textures. These sounds were then processed, sculpted, and implemented as playable, intuitive presets that evoke a deeply ominous and immersive cinematic world.
